"how do you wake up every morning?" "painfully."

my mom claims with me growing my hair out, I look sleepy all the time.

well, i find that she that her statement is true, but only to a superficial level;
due to the fact that I AM sleepy all the time.

I've been awake since 630am.

if you wonder what's wrong with that, see previous post.

ARGH.
man. i'm awake and it's freaking 1.40 am! i'm like so gonna die tomorrow.

fack.

Death Of A Friend, Father's Day and a Mini-Butt

There was a period of time, about at least 10 years ago that SOMEHOW my mugs kept breaking every month.

I was greatly saddened, and felt that my family was trying to make me confused, so that I will never know which 1 was mine.

Then came the brown mug, and she has served me well in these 10 years.

she lost a battle with the chinese tea pot, and suffered a fatal jaw fracture.

I guess this is it my friend, rest in pieces. May you go on the better things. I only hope you don't become part of a toilet bowl or something. That would really stink for you.

In other news, on Father's Day my Dad tried to make us a hearty breakfast.

He tried to decorate out plates systematically so it would look like someone paid for it, but I obviously had other plans.

I had to do something to get myself awake!

I got him the Jakob Dylan solo album, which was quite disappointing actually.

Ah well, the audio-bibliophile in me took it from the car to add it to my song collection.

God knows when I'll actually hear it.

Aside from the fact that found a butt-shaped lychee, i realize i have really stubby fingers!
(i put the lychee back, the next day they were all gone. i wonder who actually ate it.)

hahahaha!

Randomness on Sunday

this is my 300th post, and i'm posting crap.

i went down to St Hildas Sch this afternoon for service in Chapel of Christ the Redeemer.

i guess it was nice to walk the canteen of my old school, i still feel the sian-ness of going back to school man.. an still feel irritated when I see some teachers' faces on the roster.

(for those who know, F-ing Lee Kim Seng.)

I went to get a drink with my brother during the announcements part of the service. Then i took the liberty to browse through the stall headings, just to see if they have changed. I was also a bit hungry; I can't help it, I'm just me.

I couldn't help but notice this disturbing sight.

WTF is a WAFFE?!?!

HAHAHAHAHAH!

Ok here ends part 1 and onto part 2.

i don't know if i have spoken about the toad purse that is in my dad's car to anyone before.
it has been around for like years man. and i finally remember to take pictures of it for general public viewing.

this is the ONLY kind of toad i will touch.

i bloody hate slimy things.

i kill slimy things.

it was purchased in the Philippines by my dad at a tourist shop.

we used to have 2, but i don't know where the other one went.

it looks quite lifelike, but it actually feels just like leather.

Screw naruto, i got a real toad purse.

Sorry for grossing anyone out.

Care Never Seemed So Angry.

Pearl Jam

Save You

Gonna save you fucker,....not gonna lose you

Feeling cocky and strong,.. can't let you go,...

Too important to me

Too important to us,... we'd be lost without you

Baby, let yourself fall,... I'm right below you now

And fuck me if I say something you don't wanna hear fuck me

And fuck if you only hear what you wanna hear

Fuck me if I care,... but I'm not leaving here

You helped me when I was down,... I'll help when you're down

Why are you hitting yourself,... c'mon hit me instead

Let's pick up your will,... it's grown fat and lazy

I'm sympathetic as well,... don't go on me now

And I'm not living this life without you, I'm selfish and clear

And you're not leaving here without me,

I don't wanna be without

My best friend,... wake up to see you could have it all, all

Cause there is but you,... something within you

It's taken control,.. let's beat it, get up let's go

Oh you're in your own world, let's see the whole world

Let's pick up your soul fuck me if

I say something you don't wanna hear fuck me

And fuck me if you only hear the treble in your head

Please help,... me,... to help you,... help yourself

Help me help yourself,... please want me to,... please let me to

Help you

Afterword:

I realise that the last mass of words looks like a grenade. It was supposed to be a smiley.
Blogger wouldn't let me format spacing.

I would like to think it's more like a pineapple. I like pineapples, they are delicious, especially those from Thailand.
A bit pissed at the moment, but I don't wanna go all emo on my blog.

I am thus trying a new therapy.

EMO!~

I once saw a poem which was about Africa, type-written in the shape of the continent itself.

My opinions on the Dark Continent are well known, but it goes to show if someone can put in so much effort to see something beautiful in something so, erm, complex; I should try it as well.

A Rare Glimpse Into My Family Life.

Actually, this is mere a test of my iMovie capabilities.

My Review: This took all but 10 minutes. Once i got the hang of it, it was totally smooth. Great! =)

wednesday randomness.

Hearing the radio while working in my pseudo-job; switching between 91.3 ( the ex-ah beng ch) and Class 95. More inclined to 91.3 for one main reason:
I F***ING HATE 80'S SYNTH-POP!
Hitting Hong Kong again tomorrow.
Going to smash my old laptop when i get back.
I wish could drive more.
Lots to buy, cash is lacking.
Thank you for your time.

A Monster Rises

gone are the days when i would bitch about my sad state of my drum set.

a monster has risen.

the direct result of a window of opportunity opened, i give you:

the full arsenal includes, 2 snares, 6 toms and 6 cymbals.

with snares and floor toms on each side, versatility is a given; i really needed that.

i look on this with pride now.

my second freedom.

no more will i have to trudge my way down to the irritating area that is Kg Ubi,

where pressure mounts as the days pass, and occasionally a certain instructor's gender comes into question. Looks SOMEWHAT like a man, but sounds like a woman, and nags like an old lady.

she/he was nice though, and helpful in my progress.

I'M FREE!!!

Hong Kong - Day 2 & 3

Waking up in the morning is always painful, no matter which country you are in.
the super soft pillows and flashy neckroll made for a long time falling asleep.
still, i made it out to go to Tsing Yi, which is just a giant shopping centre.

nothing interesting, so no pictures.

We have breakfast beforehand, which was a dodgy looking beehoon stall with good standards as
usual, but i was too sleepy to take photos.

In Tsing Yi, they did have a large display of Easter Egg art that was done by a Japanese girl, and with descriptions written in Jap as well; so all you could do was admire it from afar.

Hong Kong people must have really itchy fingers.

With nothing really interesting, we made it down to Sham Sui Po, some some toy wholesaler street. Got my brother a weird vibrating Mario toy.

Heh heh heh.

Ate massive Beef Noodles soup, and forgot to take a picture again.

Dad landed, brother finished school, ate the Chee Choong Fun again. and then steamboat after.

Great tasting!

After dinner, back to brother's hall; jamming.

old photo, but guess i must have hit that pose sometime (i do not re-wear my shirts on consecutive days).

Took the bus back, and the idiot bus driver asked me to get off a stop earlier.
blinded by the bright lights of the street signs, i cursed his impatience and my inability to speak cantonese.

thankfully i found out first hand that many of them know English and are very helpful in giving directions, thus i got back rather quickly , at about 1145pm.
guess the streets are quite safe.

End of Day 2

Day 3 started off quite well, i guess. We planned to have Dim Sum with my brother and his friends, so it was later. I was hungry now, so i ate many cherry tomatoes and my mom bought the day before.

Still with a few hours to kill, mom, dad and me decided to walk around the streets, where the wet markets were, a rarity in Singapore.
I understand that some content may convert some people to veganism, but i guess it's always good to find out where your food comes from.

Veg and seafood included.

there were of course, some foodstuffs that we knew what they were exactly, yet failed to know what to do with them.
they do work quite fast i must say, this was taken 10 minutes after.

Hong Kong - Day 1

Two days from the day i attained my freedom, 1 month after hitting perth, i was at it again.

Starting the journey, i wasn't really expecting anything at all, maybe i'm becoming spoilt. But i packed, checked in and trudged to the waiting area of the Cathay Pacific flight, which was PRC OVERloaded (f**k.). Not before I almost died walking about 2km to meet my mom for breakfast in T3 from T1. And back.

My backpack was a bit of a hassle. I was asked to bring a squash racquet from home. It couldn't fit my luggage, so it was stuffed, handle sticking out in my backpack, a potential catalyst for injury when combined with my clumsy, waddling self.

On board, i could not help to notice that they had a channel which displays an utterly pointless but intriguing view of the bottom of the plane. So take off and landing proved more entertaining that just an irritating ear-popping experience. That being said, the channel proved blinding to watch during the flight, as the clouds, sunlight and reflective body of the plane joined to create an amazingly bright white screen.

Met my mom in the airport again, cleared customs, shipped off the Airport Express to Kowloon, free shuttle bus service to the hotel in the Jordan area. Checked in, everything settled. I was hungry. I demanded food.
This led her to bring me just two steps from the lobby of the hotel room, to get the most amazing Chee Choong Fun ever.
The peanut sauce is AMAZING!

It was about that time that my brother reached us from the HKU hall he was staying at, and this proceeded to bring me around the area a bit. But it was not long before dinner was due.

1st real meal: Roasted duck and pork rice. Compared to the first meal i had in perth, which was some sort of roasted chicken with rice, this was 4 bucks cheaper, and 10 times nicer. After dinner, brother and me split with mom to head to his hall and subsequently Lan Kwai Fong.
Idiot brother made us get off 2 early. You've been there what, 3 months?! I wasn't so peeved about the walking, I mean, it wasn't like I haven't done that in the morning. The air was cool, so no problem. What pissed me off was the sheer height that was visible from the pathway we were walking on. I'm talking concrete paths unsupported by pillars, tops of trees and the 16th story of nearby buildings below your feet. Sure I felt safe, safe enough to wish i brought a parachute. Above is an eye-level photograph.
My brother states that all of Hong Kong is like that. For one i didn't see valleys from my hotel room window, so I think he was just trying to be reassuring.

Being told that his hall had a band room, i bought a pair of sticks all ready to do what i haven't done in awhile; spend some quality time jamming with my brother.

I would like to say that the scene was so moving that someone was almost moved to tears, but that's just his singing face.

A good hour of jamming down, we quite easily pried my brother's roomie from this work to Lan Kwai Fong, some pub area in the Central district. Afterwhich we heard the from other people that a bar had free drinks for men till 11pm. Being only about 930pm, the prospect suggested, led many from the hall area (mostly Americans, Canadians and Europeans should i add) , trudging down, hoping to return gleeful when the night ended.

One free drink later onto another bar, the thought of spending the night drinking and returning rip-roaring drunk to the hotel room didn't seem like and attractive one, even with the great company, so my brother and me left to eat. He had promised me at the start of the night to bring me to eat the "BEST burgers ever". I am excited.

For once in a long time, he did not disappoint. It was the stuff of fantasy, with hand-made patties, toasted buns, the works.

Things got messier than so claimed by Carls Jr., simplier, but way more tasty. Just tomatoes, lettuce, onions and mayo, perfect.

The Chilli Cheese Fries, exquisite.

Headed back to the hotel after that rather easily. Thus ended my first day, and started my trip in the land of cheap and good food, endless sights of the fusion of past present and future, and proud public displays of Engrish.

meanwhile in whiteboardville....

All is well! the jubilant party makes merry in the forest of joy. As they rejoice, it seems even nature rejoices with them!

Or so it seems.. The monster looms ahead in the distance, as it lets out a bloodcurdling roar!

What happens next is too gory for graphic display...

Just one more party made victims!

History Continued

From the time I started writing this journal on my history, I have realised this.
In the years from which i was birthed, the dual-empire world where you had to take a side watched one side crumble, and the ideology of the dominant spreading over it's remains; a Pax Americana would rise.
The notion of a black an white world shattered and showed the reality of the different shades of colour, different shades of hate.
But a further analysis would show that earth-shattering events will always take place, shifting the tracks of which the global train runs on unceasingly. The past is always seemed better as the suffering of the present is always more vivid.

i begin again.

1995
  1. Primary 2 this year, still hating school, but yet getting first in class a few times.
  2. I win 3rd in some inter-class competition, and fiddle with the trophy till it breaks. I try to switch it with my best friend at that time, fail and stick it together with scotch tape when i get back. my mom still keeps it in the antique cabinet in my living room. this will be the last trophy i win till i hit JC.
  3. I get into a good class for pri 3 but hate it as all my other friends to go other classes in the same tier.
  4. Eric Cantona of Man U fame, after being red-carded, kicks a Crystal Palace fan in the head, and gets suspended for 9 months.
  5. Yahoo! is founded in Santa Clara, California.
  6. The DVD is announced.
  7. Alanis Morissette releases Jagged Little Pill
  8. Queen release their final album, Made in Heaven
1996
  1. Primary 3 seems alright, with me finding science totally cool and fun.
  2. I was one of those kids that carried all my books to school, so i never packed.
  3. Most prevalent feeling: worry that i'll somehow F*** something up.
  4. Yasser Arafat is re-elected President of the Palestinian Authority.
  5. "Deep Blue" defeats Garry Kasprov for the first time. I remember this.
  6. A Long March 3 rocket veers off course from it's launch pad in China and lands in a rural village, killing 500.
  7. The Nintendo 64 is released. I'm still playing with my Mega Drive 2.
  8. Osama Bin Laden writes "The Declaration of Jihad on the Americans Occupying the Country of the Two Sacred Places," a call for the removal of American forces from Saudi Arabia.
  9. M.C. Hammer declares himself a bankrupt.
  10. Bands like Matchbox Twenty and Linkin Park form.
1997
  1. Primary 4 and the dreaded year of streaming. I do ok i guess, getting into the best EM2 class.
  2. Somehow i think my science teacher hates me even thought i do well for her class. Must be cause i over-read and seem lazy and inattentive in class. (yes, i'm a nerd i know.)
  3. i HATE my chinese teacher, who also happens to be my form teacher. This will not be the first time the language bites me in the ass.
  4. The United Kingdom hands over sovreignty of Hong Kong over to China. I'm i went there before the handover, but i can't seem to remember exactly when.
  5. Princess Diana and Mother Theresa pass away. This i really remember.
  6. The "seizure" episode of Pokemon, Dennō Senshi Porygon, was shown and 385 Japanese kids either had seizures, temporary blindness, or the combination of the two.
  7. The Bird Flu hits Hong Kong and they cull all the chickens in their territory. I was there and i still ate chicken. hahaha!
  8. The so called "Big Three" Banks of Swtizerland announce the creation of a $71 million fund to aid Holocaust victims and their families.
